
Course Synopsis
This course looks at the nature of crises, distinguishing key characteristics between incidents and crises along with communications within the context of business continuity and crisis management, and how crisis communication is integral to crisis management. The course will also look at the barriers to effective communication and how to identify common obstacles to successful communication during a crisis. Managing relationships and strategies for maintaining them during turbulent times. The potential for reputational damage and the impact it can have on an organization, along with elements on creating a sincere and effective apology.
This two-day course is inclusive of course slides and a Student Workbook and aligns with the Good Practice Guidelines (GPG), as well as current international standards in business continuity.

- Developing effective messages
- Engaging with traditional outlets and social media

Course Facilitator/Trainer
This course shall be delivered by Gary Ng, who has been in the field of emergency preparedness, business continuity and crisis management with almost 2 decades of operational planning, deployment and execution experience. Gary is currently an Authorised Instructor of the BCI.
